Tags work like every other framework picture archives, social networks etc. Unfortunately, Windows can’t auto generate tags by itself. They will need to be added and handled manually. Open the File Explorer. Go to any folder which is having image files as the following image is showing.

Right click on any image and click the Properties option as the following image is showing.

As soon as you click the Properties of the image, the following dialogue box will appear.

Click the Details tab as highlighted within the above image. As you click the Details tab, the following options will appear.

Click the Tags option and then add a tag against this image. After that click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. You can add more than one tag against one file by separating them with a semicolon as the following image is showing.

Tag files while saving in Microsoft Office

Open a Word document. While saving the document, the following dialogue box will open.

Click the Add a tag option as highlighted in the above image. Then add the tag as the following image is showing.

If you want to remove the tag, click the tag box and then delete the tags. Then save the file again.

Search files using tags

Open the File Explorer. If you are in the same folder in which file is tagged, just write the tag in the search box. You will see the file in the search result as the following image is showing.

But if you are outside of the folder which is having a tag file, then you have to click the search box. Then the Search tab will appear, click on it as the following image is showing.

As you click the Search tab, the following ribbon will appear.

Click the Other properties option, then click the Tags option as highlighted in the above image. The search box will show like this.

Now type the tag for which you want to search the file.
