To stop the automatic installation of Windows 10 updates, follow this procedure step by step.

By using the settings app

Click on the Search button. Type Settings in the search bar and select the Settings as shown in the following image.

Set time from 8 to 5

Here you can select the start time and end time of the active hours. Then click on the Save button as highlighted in the image above.

By using Group Policy Editor

Click on the Search button. Type Run in the search bar and select the Run option, as shown in the image below.

Once you click on the Run option, the following dialog box will appear.

Type gpedit.msc into the Open text box and then click the OK button as highlighted in the image above. The Local Group Policy Editor will be displayed.

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update.

When you click on the Windows Update option, the following options will appear in the right pane of the screen.

Double-click the Configure Automatic Updates option, as highlighted in the image above. When you double-click this option, the following dialog box appears.

Auto download and notify for install

Click the Activated button and select the Automatically download and notify for installation option. Then click the Apply and OK button as highlighted in the image above.

After that, close the Local Group Policy Editor.
