By default, when a user signs into Windows 10, their credentials must be entered to begin as a security measure to avoid unauthorized entry. Nonetheless, situations differ and if we have a Virtual Machine installed on our machine, many of us don’t want to key in the password every time we turn the computer or laptop on. In Windows 10, the automated login procedure is easy and simple. In this article, we will guide you through the two different methods to sign in to Windows 10 automatically.

Sign in to Windows 10 automatically

To sign in to Windows 10 automatically, follow any of these procedures step by step.

Method #1

Click the Search button on the taskbar. Type Run in the search box and then click the Run option as the following image is showing.

As soon as you click the Run option, the following dialogue box will appear.

Type control userpasswords2 in the Open textbox and then click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. When you will click the OK button, the following dialogue box will appear on your screen.

Click the Users tab. After that, uncheck the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer checkbox. Then click the Apply and then the OK button as highlighted in the above image.

Now, this account will automatically login to Windows 10.

Method #2

Click the Search button on the taskbar. Type Run in the search box and then click the Run option as the following image is showing.

As soon as you click the Run option, the following dialogue box will appear.

Type Regedit in the Open textbox and then click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. When you will click the OK button, the Registry Editor screen will appear as the following image is showing.

Navigate to the following path from the left side of the screen.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> Winlogon

As you click the Winlogon option from the left side of the screen, the right side will show some options as follows.

Locate the AutoAdminLogon option and double click on it. Then the following dialogue box will appear.

Put 1 in the Value data textbox and then click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. Restart the computer to apply the changes.

Note: if this doesn’t work then follow the following.

Navigate to the following path from the left side of the screen.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> Winlogon

Now right click on the Winlogon and choose the New -> String Value as the following image is showing.

Rename the string value DefaultDomainName option as the following image is showing.

Double click the DefaultDomainName option and the following dialogue box will appear.

Type the domain name in the Value data textbox and then click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. After this, create two more values as DefaultUserName and DefaultPassword. Put your user name and password in Value data against respective values. Now make sure that AutoAdminLogon value is 1. Then restart the computer to apply the change.

Conclusion
