If you would like to have easy access to the Desktop in Windows 10, you have noticed that they have relocated the display desktop to the bottom right corner of the screen. If you have a dual-screen or even a big display, this can be distracting. You can make the Show desktop icon more visible in a few ways. To shift the ‘Show Desktop’ icon to the Quick Launch Bar & Windows 10 taskbar, follow this procedure step by step:

Right-click on the desktop and navigate through New -> Text Document as the following image is showing:

The following file will be created on the Desktop:

Open this file and ‘Save as’ as follows:

As soon as you will click the Save as the menu, the following dialogue box will open:

Now rename the File name as Show Desktop.exe. Choose All Files in the Save as type. Then click the Save button. As soon as you will save the file, the following file will appear on the desktop:

Then right-click the Show Desktop icon and choose Pin to taskbar option as follows:

Now create a new text file and paste the following code in the file:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe, 3

[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Click the File -> Save as and choose the following path to save the file:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

Rename the file as Show Desktop.scf and choose All Files in the Save as Type. Then click the Save button as the following image is showing:

Right-click on the Show Desktop.exe icon on the taskbar. Then click the Properties option as the following image is showing:

As soon as you will click the Properties option, the following dialogue box will appear:

Now enter the following path in the Target text box:

“C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\Show Desktop.scf”

Then click the Change Icon button as highlighted in the above image. The following dialogue box will appear:

Choose any icon of your choice and click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. As soon as you click the OK button, the following dialogue box will appear:

Now click the Apply and OK button as highlighted in the above image. Now Show Desktop icon has been pinned to the taskbar like this:
