There is a just one simple step to run an application as administrator in Windows 10. The one step is to right click on any application and click ‘Run as administrator’. But this step is if you want to run the application as administrator only once. In this article, we will guide you to run an application as administrator every time you will run this application. But there is a warning with this as well. Make sure to apply this setting only on those applications which you think are trusted applications. This is not by default and warns you not to make big unwanted system changes.

The following procedure is if you want to run an application as administrator just once:

Click the Search button and type Application Name in the search bar. As highlighted in the following image:

As you will select the option, your application will run as administrator.

How to run an application as administrator every time

The following procedure is to run an application as administrator every time you will run the application.

Click the Search button and type the Application name in the search bar. Right click on the application and select Open file location option. As the following image is highlighting:

The Open file location option will take you to the application where it is located in the system as the following image is showing:

Locate the application binary file

Now right click on the application and select Properties option.

As soon as you will select the Properties option. The application’s properties dialogue box will open like this:

Click the Advanced button to do further settings as above image is highlighting. Once you have clicked the Advanced button, Advanced Properties dialogue box will open like this:

Run as Administrator

In Advanced Properties, check the box of Run as administrator and click the OK button as highlighted in the above image. Once you will click the OK button you will get back to the application properties dialogue box. Click the Apply and OK button once again as shown below:

Now every time you will run this application, it will run as administrator.

By following this procedure you can run your applications in Windows 10 as administrator. You have the option to run as administrator again and again or make the settings once and every time your application will run as administrator. But you can do this to only those applications which you think are trusted. Otherwise, your system can be at risk.
