To maximize battery life with New Power Settings for Windows 10, follow this procedure step by step.

Click the Search button on the taskbar. Type Settings in the search box and then click the Settings option as the following image is showing.

As soon as you click the Settings option, the Windows Settings screen will appear as the following image is showing.

Click the System option as highlighted in the above image. As you click the System option, the following screen will appear in front of you.

As you can see that the screen is divided into two parts. Choose the Power & sleep option from the left side of the screen as highlighted in the above image. At the most right side of the screen, click the Additional power settings option under Related settings section as the following image is showing.

Once you will click this option, the following screen will appear.

Click the Change plan settings to save the battery. You can also move the slider of the Screen brightness to the left side to maximize the battery as highlighted in the above image.

Another option to maximize the battery is Battery saver. Go back to the previous screen and click the Batter option from the left side of the screen as the following image is showing.

As soon as you click the Battery option, the right side of the screen will show the following options.

Now check the Turn battery saver on automatically if my battery falls below checkbox and set the slider as per your choice. Then turn on the Battery saver status until next charge toggle button as highlighted in the above image. After that, click the See which apps are affecting your battery life option as highlighted in the above image. Then you will see which applications are using how much battery.

You can turn off the applications to run in the background and it will help to maximize the battery life.
