Every application that we use in Windows 10 has different permissions by default i.e. it allows or denies the interaction with certain other applications right according to its own needs. At times, you might have witnessed a message box displayed on your screen saying something like “This app wants to access your location” or “This app wants to access your contacts”. Two buttons saying "Allow" and "Deny" follow these kinds of messages. You can click on any of these buttons according to your own choice. This choice determines the permissions of your applications. In this article, we will explain to you some methods through which you can manage the app permissions in Windows 10.

Managing the App Permissions in Windows 10

In order to manage the app permissions in Windows 10, you can make use of any of the three methods listed below:

Method # 1: Access app permissions of individual apps

In this method, we will tell you how you can access the app permissions of each individual app using a quick shortcut in Windows 10. For doing this, you will need to perform the following steps:

Click on the Windows icon located at the extreme left of your taskbar in order to launch the Start menu as shown in the following image:

Right-click on any app (whose permissions you want to manage) in order to launch a cascading menu as shown in the image below:

Select the More option from the cascading menu and then select the App Settings from the sub-cascading menu as highlighted in the image shown above.

As soon as you will click on it, the App Settings window will appear on your screen. Here you can set the permissions of any specific app simply by turning the toggle buttons to the “on” or “off” state corresponding to the respective permissions as highlighted in the following image:

Method # 2: Alternative method for managing app permissions

This is a relatively long method of managing the permissions of each individual app on Windows 10. For doing this, you will need to perform the following steps:

Type settings in the search section of your taskbar and click on the search result in order to launch the settings window. The newly opened Settings window is shown in the following image:

Now click on any of your desired application.

Method # 3: Change permissions for all apps in Windows 10

In this method, we will tell you how you can manage the app permissions of different apps collectively in Windows 10. For doing this, you will need to perform the following steps:

Type settings in the search section of your taskbar and click on the search result to launch the settings window. The newly opened Settings window is shown in the following image:

Click on the Privacy tab as highlighted in the image shown above.

Now click on any of the app permissions from the App Permissions list. In this example, I want to see that which of my applications have an access to my camera. For doing this, I will click on the Camera permission.

As soon as I will click on it, all the applications will appear on the screen whether they are using the Camera or not. Here we can change these permissions by using the toggle buttons located in front of each individual app as highlighted in the image shown below:
