Show seconds in Windows 10 Taskbar Clock

All of us know that the taskbar in Windows 10 displays the current time precisely up to minutes. This time is pretty much accurate and fulfills the needs of a common user. However, some users are there who want the accuracy up to seconds, which is only possible if we somehow manage to make the taskbar clock to display seconds. In this article, we will explain to you a method through which you can make the taskbar clock to display seconds in Windows 10.

Making the Taskbar Clock Display Seconds in Windows 10

In order to make the taskbar clock to display seconds in Windows 10, you will need to perform the following steps:

Type regedit in the search section of your taskbar and click on the search result to launch a new registry editor window. The newly opened Registry Editor window is shown in the following image:

Click on the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder as highlighted in the image shown above.

Click on the Software folder located under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder.

Now click on the Microsoft folder as highlighted in the image shown above.

Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft

Click on the Windows folder located under the Microsoft folder.

Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows

Now click on the CurrentVersion folder as highlighted in the image shown above.

Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version

Click on the Explorer folder to expand it further.

Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Explorer

Finally, click on the Advanced folder as highlighted in the image shown above.

So, the complete path is as follows:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

As soon as you will click on the Advanced folder, some values will appear in the right pane of the window as shown in the following image:

Now right click anywhere in the right pane of the window and click New. Then select DWORD (32-bit) Value from the sub-cascading menu as highlighted in the image shown below:

As soon as you will click on it, a new value will appear in the right pane of the window. Rename this value as “ShowSecondsInSystemClock” and then press enter as shown in the following image:

Double click on this newly created key in order to edit its value as shown in the image below:

Type “1” in the text box corresponding to the field of Value Data in order to make the taskbar clock to display seconds in Windows 10. This is shown in the following image:

Click on the OK button to save your settings. After doing this, you will need to restart your PC in order for the changes to take effect.

As soon as you will restart your PC, your taskbar clock will start displaying seconds as highlighted in the image shown below:
