Whenever your Windows 10 computer system wakes up from the sleep mode, you are always supposed to click on the Lock Screen in order to activate it. Only then, you are allowed to proceed with your login process. Many users find this click as wastage of time and want to get rid of it. In this article, we will explain to you the method through which you can disable the lock screen in Windows 10.

Disabling Lock Screen in Windows 10

In order to disable the lock screen in Windows 10, you will need to perform the following steps:

Type regedit in the search section of your taskbar and click on the search results to launch the registry editor window. The newly opened Registry Editor window is shown in the following image:

Open the Windows Registry Editor

Click on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder as highlighted in the image shown above.

Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder, click on the SOFTWARE subfolder in order to expand it as highlighted in the image shown below:

Now click on the Policies folder as highlighted in the following image:

Under the Policies folder, click on the Microsoft subfolder in order to expand it as highlighted in the image shown below:

Finally, click on the Windows folder as highlighted in the following image:

Therefore the complete path is as follows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Policies\ Microsoft\ Windows

This path is also highlighted in the image shown below:

Now right click in the right pane of the Registry Editor window in order to launch a cascading menu as shown in the following image:

Select the New option from the cascading menu and then choose Key from the sub-cascading menu as highlighted in the image shown above.

As soon as you will click on it, a new key will be created under the Windows folder. Rename this newly created key as Personalization as highlighted in the image shown below:

Now double click on the newly created Personalization key folder.

After clicking on it, right click in the right pane of the Registry Editor window in order to launch a cascading menu as shown in the following image:

Select the New option from the cascading menu and then choose DWORD (32-bit) Value from the sub-cascading menu as highlighted in the image shown above.

As soon as you will click on it, a new DWORD (32-bit) Value field will be created inside the Personalization folder. Rename this newly created value field as NoLockScreen as highlighted in the image shown below:

Now double click on the NoLockScreen field in order to edit its value. As soon as you will double click on it, the Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value dialogue box will appear on your screen as shown in the following image:

Type “1” in the textbox corresponding to the field of Value Data and then click on the OK button in order to save your settings as highlighted in the image shown below:
