Disable Action Center in Windows 10

There are two ways to disable the action center in Windows 10:

  • Taskbar settings
  • Local Group Policy Editor

Taskbar Settings

To disable action center in Windows 10 through taskbar settings, follow this procedure step by step:

Click the Search button. Type Settings in the search bar and select the option as the following image is showing:

Select the Personalization option from the Windows Settings as highlighted in the above image. As soon as you will select the Personalization option, the following screen will appear:

As you can see that the screen is divided into two parts. Select the Taskbar option from the left side of the screen as highlighted in the above image. As soon as you will select the Taskbar option, the following screen will appear:

Turn System Icons on or off

Now choose the option named Turn system icons on or off as the above image is indicating. After selecting the Turn system icon on or off, taskbar icons will appear like this:

Now turn off the toggle button of Action Center to disable Action Center in Windows 10. You can turn it on to enable the action center by following the same procedure.

Local Group Policy Editor

To disable Action Center in Windows 10 by local group policy editor, follow this procedure step by step:

Click the Search button. Type gpedit.msc in the search bar and select the option as the following image is showing:

User Configuration Administrative Templates

Now navigate through User Configuration -> Administrative Templates as above image is indicating. After this select the option Start Menu and Taskbar -> Remove Notifications and Action Center like this:

Set option to enabled

To disable the action center, click the radio button named Enabled. Then click Apply and OK button as highlighted in the above image. After this restart your computer to apply the setting. You are done with disabling the action center in Windows 10.

If you want to enable the action center to follow the same procedure and at last select Disabled or Not Configured radio button.
