The Windows 10 lock screen is not just a display picture or slideshow. It can view updates from various applications and thorough status details. By this lock screen, you can also use Cortana explicitly. But you can still do a lot to personalize the lock screen to suit your needs. In this article, we will guide you through the whole procedure to configure the Windows 10 lock screen.
Configure the Windows 10 lock screen
To configure the Windows 10 lock screen, follow this procedure step by step:
Click the Search button. Type Settings in the search bar and select the option as the following image is showing:
As you will click the Settings option, Windows Settings will appear like this:
Select the Personalization option from Windows Settings as highlighted in the above image. After selecting the Personalization option, the following screen will appear:
As you can see that the above screen is divided into two parts. Choose the Lock screen option from the left side of the screen as the above image is showing. After selecting the Lock screen option, the following screen will appear:
Now you can configure and customize the lock screen as per your choice.
There are three options to choose as lock screen Background e.g. Windows spotlight, Picture & Slideshow. Click the drop down under Background and choose the background of your choice like this:
You can also choose an application for which you want to see detail on the lock screen. For that click the app under Choose an app to show detailed status.
As you will click the app, the following menu will appear:
Choose that app for which you want to see details on the lock screen.
You can also choose apps that will show quick status on the lock screen. Click the + sign under Choose apps to show quick status and choose apps like this:
Another feature is to configure Cortana on the lock screen. Click Cortana lock screen settings as follows:
As you will click the option, the following screen will appear:
Now turn on or off the toggle button named Use Cortana even when my device is locked.
By following this procedure you can configure the Windows 10 lock screen as per your choice.
