Although this can be helpful sometimes to confirm that passwords are correctly entered, it is also a potential threat and can be disabled. It is a helpful feature in terms of protection. To avoid revealing passwords in Windows 10, follow this procedure step by step.
Click the Search button on the taskbar. Type Run in the search box and then click the Run option as the following image is showing.
As soon as you click the Run option, the subsequent dialogue box will appear.
Type gpedit.msc within the Open textbox then click the OK button as highlighted within the above image. When you click the OK button, the Local Group Policy Editor screen will appear as the following image is showing.
Navigate through the following path from the left side of the screen.
Local Computer Policy -> User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Credential Interface
As you click the Credential Interface from the left side of the screen, the right side will show a single option as the following image is showing.
The right side will show the Do not display the password reveal button option. Double click on this option and the following dialogue box will appear.
Now choose the Enabled radio button, if you want to avoid revealing the password. After that, click the Apply and then the OK button as highlighted in the above image.
If you don’t want to avoid revealing the password, then you will select the Disabled radio button and apply this change. After that, your password will be revealed while typing.
