Deployment Imaging service and management (DISM) is a tool which offers a number of command line options. In an earlier post, we repaired Windows 10 with sfc.exe utility. However, if you failed to repair Windows 10 with sfc.exe (which rarely happens), try dism.exe.
Repair Windows 10 Using DISM
DISM scans, repairs, and cleans corrupted .wim (Windows System Image) files.
To get started, follow these steps.
Step 1. Open command prompt with elevated privileges
Step 2. Execute the following command
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
Wait for the process to complete which can take around 15-20 minutes. When a process complete, it will give you a complete report. If it fails, it will report you and generates an error log.
