When you get the following error, try the solution listed below.

USB device not recognized

The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.


Restart the Computer

Plug out the USB device, restart the computer and plug in back the USB device.

Try the USB on Different Computer

Plug in the USB on different computer. If it doesn't work on that computer, try it on any other computer.

Plug Out Other USB Devices

If you have multiple USB devices plugged into your computer and remove all of them except the intended device you want to use.

Fix USB Root Hub

Open device manager.

Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Right-click the USB Root Hub and then click Properties

Open Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off device to save power" and click Ok.

Update Drivers

Open device manager. Right-click the device and then click "Update driver".
