Recently, I found a question where a guy was asking about the purpose of Windows Nano Server and its usage in a production environment.
So here is the answer.
Nano server was just released in 2017 so it may take some time to be deployed in and Microsoft says it is the future.
In short, it is a lightweight operating system which is based on Windows Server 2016. It takes less resources since It doesn't have any GUI, no local login, and even PowerShell. It is remotely managed in an environment. It has just a console through which some of the settings are managed including IP setting and firewall.
